The COVID-19 pandemic has created significant financial challenges and uncertainty for many of our students.
There are many in our community and our country who are stepping up and helping students in this time of need.

On March 11, 2021, the American Rescue Plan (ARP) was signed into law providing additional funding through the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) III. This funding is now available to institutions of higher education (IHEs) to serve students and ensure learning continues during the COVID-19 pandemic. Details for the ARP funding can be found on our Emergency Funding Request webpage.
On December 27, 2020, the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund II (HEERF II) was signed into law. On January 14, 2021 the U.S. Department of Education announced that additional Higher Education Emergency Relief funding is now available to institutions of higher education (IHEs) to serve students and ensure learning continues during the COVID-19 pandemic. OSU received $7.7M in funding to go to direct student emergency support.
The Federal CARES Act provided emergency aid to students to cover additional expenses related costs incurred from campus disruptions due to COVID-19. OSU received $7.7M in funding to go to direct student emergency support. This money has been disbursed to students.
The Beavers Care initiative is providing immediate resources for students who are facing financial challenges during this difficult time. These funds are very limited. Students should connect with their college to inquire about funds.
OSU is dedicating money from the general scholarship fund to assist students facing financial challenges due to COVID-19.
The ECMC Foundation, through the University Innovation Alliance, has donated emergency funds to help OSU students facing financial hardships due to COVID-19. This money has been disbursed to students.
