Financial Aid

Below are important dates for financial aid. Information about important student billing dates and academic dates can be found on their respective pages.

August

• Degree Partnership Program deadline for fall application is 4 weeks prior to the OSU start of the term.

September

• Payments of fall term financial aid start disbursing onto OSU student billing accounts about one week before the start of the term. Read more about disbursement and receiving aid.

October

• The FAFSA application is available for submission beginning October 1st each year. OSU's FAFSA Priority Deadline is May 31st but earlier is better!  

November

• The OSU ScholarDollars application opens on November 1st for already admitted or current students.

December/January

• Winter break is a good time to start searching for scholarships for the next school year. Scholarship resources include the OSU ScholarDollars scholarship application, the OSAC Scholarship application for Oregon residents, and a number of online search engines as well! Read how to apply for scholarships and avoid scams.

• We begin providing aid offers for eligible students who are beginning their first term at OSU for the Winter quarter in the current school year.

• Payments of winter term financial aid start disbursing onto OSU student billing accounts about one week before the start of the term.

• Degree Partnership Program deadline for winter application is 4 weeks prior to the OSU start of the term.

February

• If you are an incoming student who wants to be considered for OSU institutional scholarships, the Admissions application deadline is February 1st.

• The OSU ScholarDollars scholarship application's main deadline is typically February 15th.

• OSAC Early Bird Scholarship Application deadline is  February 15 - 5pm PST each year: Visit the OSAC website for additional information.

• Oregon State FAFSA Priority Filing Deadline has been moved for the 2024-25 year to May 1, 2024! This is a one year extension due to the delays in FAFSA processing at the Department of Education.  

March/April

• OSAC (Office of Student Access and Completion) Scholarship Applications are typically due March 1st. Visit OSAC for more information. 

• We begin providing aid offers for eligible students who are beginning their first term at OSU for the Spring quarter in the current school year.

• Payments of spring term financial aid start disbursing onto OSU student billing accounts about one week before the start of the term.

• Financial aid offer letters are sent to incoming priority deadline applicants for the next school year. See instructions on how to view and accept your award. If you are attending summer term, you will be able to request to have your aid offer adjusted to include summer term in your MyOregonState account.

• Degree Partnership Program deadline for spring application is 4 weeks prior to the OSU start of the term.

• Most OSU ScholarDollars scholarships are awarded by April. Some awards may come later depending on the department.

May

• The Federal PLUS Loan application for parents and graduate students opens on May 1st for the following school year. We recommend applying at least a few weeks before the term(s) you will need the loan.
• Financial aid offers are sent to students in professional graduate-level programs (such as Vet Med and Pharmacy).

June/July

• Payments of summer term financial aid start disbursing onto OSU student billing accounts about one week before the start of the term. SEOG and many scholarships awarded for summer cannot disburse until the beginning of the new fiscal year on July 1st.

• Degree Partnership Program deadline for summer application is 4 weeks prior to the OSU start of the term.
